POCO X8 5G – NBTC and IMEI Database Listings

Starting with Thailand’s NBTC certification database, an upcoming POCO smartphone carrying the model number ‘2607DPC18G’ has been listed with the certificate number ‘B38497-26’ and moniker Poco X8. Under the telecommunications equipment subcategory, the device is mentioned with support for GSM, WCDMA, LTE, and NR connectivity.

Moving on to the IMEI database, a testing unit carrying the same ‘2607DPC18G’ model number has also been listed, and its marketing name is mentioned as ‘POCO X8’.

Also to add, the same model number had previously appeared on the European EEC and Indonesian TKDN certification databases. While these earlier listings confirmed that it belongs to a POCO-branded smartphone, they did not reveal its final marketing name.

The ‘2607DPC18G’ model was later spotted on the NBD import and export database as well. For comparison, the global Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G carries the model number ‘2607DRA18G’, whereas its Chinese variant is associated with ‘2607DRA18C’. The POCO model replaces the ‘RA’ branding code with ‘PC’, while retaining the remaining characters of the global Redmi model number.

Looking at these similarities, the upcoming POCO X8 5G could launch as a rebranded version of either the Chinese or global Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G.

As per earlier reports, the global Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G could pack an 8,340mAh rated battery, which may be marketed with a typical capacity of around 8,500mAh. In comparison, the Chinese variant that has already been launched features a larger 9,000mAh battery.

The Chinese Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G also features a 6.83″ 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, a 50MP primary rear camera, and 67W wired fast charging. However, it remains to be seen whether the POCO X8 5G will retain the same specification sheet as the Chinese or the global variant.
