Xiaomi has launched its latest Redmi Note 17 series in its home market of China today, comprising the vanilla Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 Pro smartphones. Following this, a new detail has now revealed that the Redmi Note 17 5G could be making its way to the Indian market under the POCO branding as the POCO M8 Power.

POCO M8 Power – India Launch Tipped
A new POCO smartphone carrying the model number ‘26021PC18I’ has appeared in the latest HyperOS firmware build, as spotted by reliable tipster Kacper Skrzypek. The firmware code has revealed its moniker as the ‘POCO M8 Power’, while the codenames of the device are listed as ‘mist’ and ‘mist_p_in’.
Speaking more, the ‘26021PC18I’ model number shares a lot of similarities with the ‘26021RN18C’ model number of the Chinese Redmi Note 17 5G variant. Because of this, it is believed that the upcoming POCO M8 Power could arrive with specifications similar to those of the Redmi Note 17 5G (China).
Another detail highlighted by the tipster is that Xiaomi may once again introduce different specifications for the global and Indian variants of its Redmi Note series smartphones. A similar strategy was followed with the Redmi Note 15 5G, under which the global variant arrived with different specifications, while the Indian model featured specifications similar to those of its Chinese counterpart.
Regarding the upcoming Redmi Note 17 series, the same is claimed to happen at least in the battery department. The global variants of the Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 Pro are tipped to feature 7,700mAh and 8,340mAh batteries, respectively. On the other hand, their Indian variants are said to retain the same 8,000mAh and 9,000mAh battery capacities as the respective Chinese models.
Also to add, the same ‘26021PC18I’ model number of the POCO M8 Power 5G had already appeared on the Indian BIS certification database alongside the Redmi 17 5G smartphone. This further suggests that both devices could soon be making their way to the Indian market.
