Xiaomi recently unveiled its latest Redmi Note 17 series in its home market of China, and now tipster Abhishek Yadav has once again tipped the Indian launch timeline of the Redmi Note 17 5G, along with its first sale date. We have also spotted the alleged 4G variant of the smartphone on the UAE’s TDRA certification database.
Read more about the update below.
Alleged Redmi Note 17 4G – TDRA Certification
On the UAE’s TDRA certification database, a Redmi smartphone carrying the model number ‘26012RN62Y’ has been listed, and its marketing name is mentioned as ‘Redmi Note 17’.
While the TDRA listing does not specifically mention whether it is a 4G or 5G smartphone, the same ‘26012RN62Y’ model number had earlier appeared on the Indonesian SDPPI certification database and TKDN database, which confirmed that it is a 4G-supported handset.

Looking into the previous reports, it was revealed that the device may include 4GB/128GB storage, 6GB/128GB, 256GB, or 512GB storage, and 8GB RAM with 256GB or 512GB storage.
GSM, WCDMA, and 4G cellular connectivity, along with dual-SIM support, Bluetooth with BR/EDR/LE and dual-band Wi-Fi operating on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands were the connectivity details revealed through the FCC certification.
Two additional model numbers—‘26012RN62A’ and ‘26012RN62L’—are expected to belong to the same upcoming smartphone.
Redmi Note 17 5G – India Launch and First Sale Timeline Tipped
Moving on to the Redmi Note 17 5G, earlier rumors had suggested that Xiaomi could launch the smartphone in the Indian market on August 6th, 2026.
Tipster Abhishek Yadav has now once again mentioned the same launch date, and he has further claimed that the first sale of the Redmi Note 17 5G will begin in India on August 11th, 2026.
The tipped first sale date falls only a few days before India’s Independence Day, meaning its availability could possibly be associated with the upcoming Independence Day sales. However, this has not yet been officially confirmed by Xiaomi.
Speaking of its specifications, the tipster had earlier mentioned that the Indian version of the Redmi Note 17 5G could arrive with a specification sheet similar to that of its Chinese counterpart but with slight changes.

Whereas tipster Kacper Skrzypek had also claimed that the Indian variant may come with an 8,000mAh battery similar to the one given in the Chinese Redmi Note 17 5G; however, the global variant is rumored to feature a smaller 7,700mAh battery.
In related news, the recently teased POCO M8 Power 5G is also expected to arrive in the Indian market as a rebranded version of the Chinese Redmi Note 17 5G, whose model number ‘26021PC18I’ was found in the HyperOS Codebase, while its codenames are mentioned as ‘mist’ and ‘mist_p_in’.
Seeing the similarity between the model numbers and firmware details of both devices suggests that the POCO M8 Power 5G may come with similar specs to those of the Chinese Redmi Note 17 5G, including its 8,000mAh battery. However, POCO has not yet officially revealed its specifications or launch date.
