In a new finding, we have now discovered a 4G smartphone under the Redmi branding on the FCC database, which, as per reports, is the upcoming Redmi 17 4G. Speaking more, details regarding additional Redmi and Poco devices have also been revealed.
Here is more to it.
Alleged Redmi 17 4G – FCC Database
On the FCC database, we can see a new 4G device with Redmi branding and the model number “26012RN62L”, and it now appears with the FCC ID “2AFZZRN62L”. This certification reveals several connectivity options, including GSM/WCDMA/4G cellular connectivity, dual-SIM support, Bluetooth (BR/EDR/LE), and dual-band WiFi (2.4GHz/5GHz).
Several memory variants of the device, including 4GB/128GB, 6GB/128GB, 6GB/256GB, 6GB/512GB, 8GB/256GB, and 8GB/512GB are also given in the FCC document. About the moniker, the FCC document doesn’t mention it; however, an earlier report from a publication named XIMI TIME mentions that this model number belongs to the upcoming Redmi 17 4G device. Along with this model number, the publication also mentions an additional model number “26012RN62Y”.
Further, the publication adds that the device may also come with Poco branding, likely as the Poco M9 4G (26012PC62G). Adding more to this, the HyperOS codebase reveals the device’s codename as “zephyr” with the internal model number “P19A”, which notably matches the internal model number appearing on the FCC database. The publication further claims that this device might come with the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 SoC.
Other than this, additional details from IMEI and HyperOS codebase listings point to a separate series codenamed “mist” (internal model P19). This includes model numbers 26021RN18C, 26021RN18I, and 26021PC18I, which are believed to be the Redmi Note 17R (for China), the Redmi 17 5G, and a rebranded Poco M8 Plus 5G respectively. Processor-wise, this 5G variant will come with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 SoC, as claimed by the same publication.
Regarding the availability, the 4G variant (zephyr) will launch in global, EU, Turkey, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Russia. While the 5G variant (mist) will launch in all the markets where the 4G variant will, along with India and China.
