EPFO WhatsApp Service – Features and Reported Issue

The newly-launched service allows EPF subscribers to check their PF balance, view their latest five transactions, and access passbook information through WhatsApp by simply sending “Hi” from their registered mobile number to +91 8796441800 and then selecting the required service from the available options.

On the same announcement post on X, some users have shared that the service was unable to send an OTP and displayed an error message, “⚠️ We’re unable to send the OTP right now. Please try again after some time.” This means that this newly launched service might not be working for some users; however, it could be possible that, due to network issues, the OTP’s weren’t being sent. Either way, no official details have been released on whether this issue is limited to a few users or is widespread.
