Realme’s vice president and president of Global Marketing, Xu Qi Chase (also known as Chase Xu), recently confirmed that the brand will not be launching a GT-series smartphone in the global market this year. However, a new tip has now claimed that the reported GT and Neo devices have not been cancelled for global markets and could instead arrive under different marketing names.

Realme GT and Neo Devices Could Launch Globally Under Different Names
As per the latest details shared by tipster Yogesh Brar, the previously reported Realme GT and Neo devices have not been cancelled for global markets. Instead, the devices are claimed to be launched under different monikers.
The tipster did not reveal the marketing names that will be used for these smartphones or share any other information concerning their launch timelines and specifications. However, the new tip suggests that the underlying devices could still make their way into global markets without using the GT and Neo branding.
Interestingly, this does not entirely contradict the information previously shared by Chase Xu. The Realme executive had confirmed that there would be no separate GT product line for overseas markets, while also revealing that the brand’s number series would be adjusted and positioned to carry forward products belonging to the GT and Neo segments.
This suggests that smartphones initially developed for the GT and Neo lineups could probably be introduced globally as part of Realme’s number series or under some other branding. Nevertheless, their final marketing names are still under wraps.
For those unaware, Realme has also decided to stop introducing new smartphones in its home market of China and will instead focus on overseas markets. India, Southeast Asia, Europe, and Latin America have been pointed out to be some of the brand’s key markets going forward.
Another major change coming to Realme smartphones concerns their software. The brand is moving away from Realme UI and will transition its upcoming and eligible existing devices to OPPO’s ColorOS 17 based on Android 17. Existing smartphones eligible for the Android 17 update will reportedly receive ColorOS 17, whereas devices that have reached the end of their major Android update eligibility could continue receiving maintenance and security updates under Realme UI as per their respective software-support policies.
Since Realme has not yet officially revealed the identities of the globally rebranded GT and Neo devices, the latest information must be taken with a pinch of salt. More details concerning their marketing names, specifications, and launch timelines could probably be revealed in the coming months.
