The next POVA series handset has already been confirmed to break cover in India on June 11, 2026, and now, just a day ahead of its launch in the country, the device has appeared on the Google Play Console database, revealing a few key details about this upcoming smartphone. However, its official microsite is yet to be made live in the Indian market.

POVA 8 5G – Google Play Console Listing
On the Google Play Console database, the model number ‘LK6’ along with the moniker POVA 8 5G can be seen on the listing. As per the listing, the device will be using a MediaTek chipset with the codename MT6858, and it is revealed to have an octa-core architecture with a primary core clocked at 2.6GHz, three cores clocked at 2.5GHz, and the remaining four cores clocked at 2.0GHz. The chipset will also be integrated with the ARM Mali G610 GPU clocked at 1000MHz.
Although the codename suggests that this could be the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 SoC, the CPU core configuration points towards a new chipset, as the Dimensity 7100 is said to come with a 4+4 core architecture and not the one that has been mentioned in this listing. However, an earlier Geekbench listing had shown a 4+4 core architecture, and at that time, it was assumed that the device could be powered by the Dimensity 7100 SoC. For this reason, it cannot be said for sure which chipset will be powering this handset, especially as its predecessor came with the Dimensity 7400 SoC, and there is no point in Tecno offering an inferior chip on the POVA 8 5G. Whatever the case may be, more clarity regarding the chipset is expected to arrive soon.
Speaking more, the Google Play Console listing also confirms the 8GB RAM variant of the upcoming POVA 8 5G, and it is mentioned to run on the Android 16 operating system out of the box. Previously, the Geekbench listing had revealed a 6GB RAM variant of the device as well, thereby pointing to two RAM options for the handset.
The database further reveals that the upcoming smartphone will feature a display screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2344 pixels and a pixel density of 420 DPI. Other than what has been revealed today, the POVA 8 5G is also expected to pack an 8000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support, as revealed via the FCC listing. Additionally, the Carlcare service website for the India region has also confirmed 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 256GB memory options for the device in the Indian market.
