With Chrome, users can now search, select or copy text from scanned PDFs

Chrome’s built-in PDF viewer allows users to view PDF documents directly within the browser, eliminating the need for separate software.  When you click on a PDF link or a PDF file, it opens within Chrome only. Though earlier there was only basic viewing functionality offered to users, that’s not the case anymore.

Google now lets users search, select, or copy text from scanned PDFs opened with Chrome, which will make your work simpler and enhance your productivity.

How to search, select, or copy the text you want in scanned PDFs?

  • When you come across a scanned PDF on a webpage, open it in Chrome PDF viewer
  • Almost instantly, the PDF will become interactive
  • You can now select text, use the search function, or copy the selected text as needed.
