Yesterday, Spotify officially launched Memberships, giving eligible creators a new way to offer exclusive content and earn 90% of the revenue share.
Spotify Memberships
First previewed at Investor Day earlier this year, Memberships give creators the flexibility to shape what they offer, while making it easy for fans to join and access exclusive content from their favourite shows.

With Membership, creators can offer exclusive audio or video, bonus episodes, fewer ads, early access, access to a show’s archive, or all of the above. Creators can also package benefits across multiple tiers and pricing options.
Since Memberships are built into Spotify, creators can reach potential members when they’re already listening and watching. With tools like targeted promotions, free trials, and analytics that show what’s driving sign-ups. Creators can also have access to exportable member data, including contact information from fans who choose to share it, giving them more control over their relationships- on and off Spotify.
With this new launch, Spotify helps creators turn their existing audiences into paying members.
For fans, getting started is simple: in supported markets, Free and Premium users can find a show’s Membership offering on its Spotify show page, join through a streamlined checkout process, and access member content without ever leaving Spotify. Members can also display badges when commenting on episodes, while creators can greet new members with welcome clips.
As revealed by the company, creators launching Memberships on Spotify include The Adam Friedland Show, Making Sense with Sam Harris, The Shawn Ryan Show, Two Hot Takes, The Sculpt Society and YMH Studios, which is bringing Memberships to 12 shows across its network, among others.
Apart from this exclusivity, Memberships help creators build a recurring revenue stream directly from their fans while keeping 90% of the revenue they generate.
