During a national championship tournament in Ranchi, Jharkhand’s capital, a BJP MP was captured on tape smacking a wrestler.
The video shows Brijbhushan Sharan Singh, who is also the president of the Wrestling Federation of India, beating the young wrestler twice before leaving the stage.
On the first day of the Under-15 National Wrestling Championship event at the Shaheed Ganpat Rai Indoor Stadium in Ranchi, Mr. Singh, who represents Uttar Pradesh’s Kaiserganj constituency in the Lok Sabha, was present as the chief guest.
The wrestler was supposedly not allowed to compete since he was over the age limit.
However, he persisted in persuading Mr. Singh to let him compete in the Under-15 category, prompting the MP to lose his cool and slap him.
