Yesterday, reports started surfacing online about an unofficial GTA V browser port (playgta5.com), while various users also shared footage of themselves playing the game on Chrome. Well, as soon as the reports started going viral, the site was shut down within hours.
It is said that the company might have raised copyright issues. An X user @NolixGTA has now shared an archived Wayback Machine link to playgta5.com that allows users to play GTA V in a browser again.

This archive access is said to be partial at best due to technical requirements. Many users have mentioned facing loading issues in the comment section of the above post. The browser version arrived with compressed assets around 700MB, supporting story mode, sandbox, and more, but crashes and memory errors were also witnessed.
Reportedly, AI tools helped write or convert parts of the unofficial port, and it was built on GTA V’s leaked source code.
Neither Take-Two nor Rockstar Games have made any official statement regarding this viral GTA V browser version.
