Instagram removed Porn Hub’s Official account with 13.1M followers , here is the complete story

Instagram, the highly used social media platform, has now removed the official account of PornHub. The act was followed after campaigners pressurized Instagram.

PornHub’s Instagram account had a total of 13.1 million followers, along with which it had 6,200 posts in total. The account promoted PornHub’s various videos and performers with “appropriate-for-work” content. Currently, the site maintains popular accounts on other social media platforms, such as Twitter. However, Instagram has now properly removed the account. As of yet, the major reason behind why Meta decided to take it down is not understood, but screenshots by anti-PornHub campaigner Laila Mickelwait said that the action was taken because the handle violated the community guidelines, which is not acceptable.

Micklewait showed her happiness and affirmation of this decision, by writing on Twitter about the decision on Instagram. She said, “Meta and Instagram had made the ‘right decision’ by cutting ties with PornHub”. We have tried reaching out to Micklewait and Meta both for their stance on the action taken, but there has been no response to the story. Let’s wait for their answers as to what, immediately made the Meta put this pornhub page down.
