Elon Musk today in response to a tweet wrote that this is the best plane ever. A user by the name of Massimo with the username @Rainmaker1973 wrote about SR-71 the fastest and highest operational manned aircraft throughout its career (1964-1998). In 1976, it set an absolute speed record of 1,905.81 knots (2,193.2 mph; 3,529.6 km/h), approximately Mach 3.3.

 

To this Elon Musk replied that this is the best plane ever. For those who don’t know about the history of SR-71 here are some facts about it.

The Lockheed SR-71 “Blackbird” is a long-range, high-altitude, Mach 3+ strategic reconnaissance aircraft designed and constructed by Lockheed Corporation in the United States. Both the US Air Force and NASA were in charge of its operation.
