The online instant messaging and voice-over-IP app WhatsApp is introducing a new feature in its platform for providing better privacy to its users. The new feature will be called “My Contacts Except” and it will allow users to hide their last seen and profile pictures from selected contacts.

According to reports, the WABetaInfo has scheduled the beta version 2.2149.1 for web users and it is formulated to introduce the privacy feature to more users using Android beta and Apple iOS beta.

The current features provided by the Facebook-owned platform allows you to set status information to ‘everyone’, ‘my contacts’ or ‘nobody’ but the new version will allow you to hide your profile from certain people.

But the reports also informed that the beta testers were unable to choose ‘My Contacts Except’ on WhatsApp Web/Desktop even after the feature is enabled on their account. Thus, there are not many details on when it will be enabled on WhatsApp Web.

Recently WhatsApp has also introduced the beta UWP 2.2148.3.7 on the Windows app which has added new emojis on the platform for the advantage of desktop users as the emojis were already available on Android and iOS devices. The online instant messaging service platform has also rolled out a feature that will allow the users to create skin-tone combinations for couples emojis on the Universal Windows Platform app and the Android users too. Earlier it was only available for Apple iPhone users.

Moreover, the Meta-owned platform is also testing a new-in-app camera interface on Android devices. It will lead to a change in the position of the Flash shortcut and also redesigning of a button that will provide a better experience with the app. One more feature that WhatsApp is testing will allow the group admins to delete messages made by other members or themselves.
