Realme announces price hike for its Realme 16 series devices in India; Company tops the charts for announcing the most price hikes in India
As seen in the last few months, the rising component costs like memory and storage have started impacting consumers’ pockets as various brands have already announced price hikes for their smartphones, tablets, and laptops, while new gadgets are being launched at a price higher than expected.
To date, Realme has announced numerous price hikes for its already launched smartphones, and recently, the brand has again come up with a price hike for Realme 16 series devices in India.

The revised prices will be effective from today onwards in the country.

- 8/128GB: Rs 46,999- Rs 49,999
- 8/256GB: Rs 48,999- Rs 52,999
- 12/256GB: Rs 52,999- Rs 55,999
Realme 16 Pro 5G
- 8/128GB: Rs 36,999- Rs 37,999
- 8/256GB: Rs 39,999- Rs 40,999
- 12/256GB: Rs 42,999- Rs 43,999
Realme 16 5G
- 8/128GB: Rs 33,999- Rs 34,999
- 8/256GB: Rs 36,999- Rs 37,999
- 12/256GB: Rs 39,999- Rs 40,999
As per the India smartphone price changes chart, Realme has announced the highest price hikes to date. This recent price hike announcement makes it the 125th time this year.
India Smartphone Price Changes
As per the above image, till 23rd June, Realme has announced 124 price hikes, and the above announcement makes it 125 times. Followed by Vivo and Oppo with 56 and 40 price hikes, respectively. The least price hikes are announced by Tecno and OnePlus (9).
If we take a look at the average price increase chart, Motorola has the highest average increase at 26.8%, Realme is in the second spot with 24.2%, while Tecno is again at the last with 12%.
If rumours are to be believed, the rising component costs might carry on till next year, which suggests the smartphone industry may see more such price hikes in the future.
