Finally, Google partners with Airtel in a big move on Thursday. The two giants attribute the aim of their partnership to reducing digital divide in India.

In the last few decades, India’s digital ecosystem has progressed significantly. However, 340 million population in India is still a feature phone user.

Currently, Airtel has tested 5G network in Hyderabad and Kolkata. Moreover, it has partnered with other giants like Qualcomm and Intel. Now, Google partners with Airtel.

  • Google finalises investing a whopping $1 billion in Airtel.
  • Thus, the partnership is signed as multiyear partnership.
  • Out of $1 billion, $700 million will be an equity investment in Airtel. At the share value of Airtel, Rs 734.
  • As per revelations, Airtel will use another $300 million to penetrate smartphones across the demography of India.
