According to reports, WhatsApp will ask users to upload the necessary documents for verification before gaining access to the money transfer service. Moreover, users can also be asked to make a video selfie for identity verification.

David Marcus, Head of FinTech unit at Meta also reported that the parent company ID working to unify its payments and financial services unit and products under Novi brand.

The Executive stated, “Some of these products are branded Facebook Pay, some are unbranded, and our wallet operates under the Novi brand. So over time, we will unify all existing and future payments and financial services experiences under the Novi brand.”
