Claude Personal Finance – Features and Privacy Details
The Personal Finance feature which is being introduced for Claude lets users connect their selected bank and card accounts to get insights into their spending and financial activity. But, as claimed in the press release, access to these accounts will be read-only, and the feature cannot move, manage, or invest users’ money.
To connect an account, users will have to sign in to their bank through Plaid and approve Claude’s read-only access.
Details like the bank name, account name, account type, and last four digits will be accessible for the accounts users choose to connect. Balances, credit limits, and up to two years of transactions will also be available to Claude, helping it answer questions based on the user’s financial information.
Notably, Anthropic has stated that conversations within the Personal Finance hub will not be used to train its models. However, information shared with Claude outside this hub will follow the user’s privacy settings.
About disconnecting accounts, users can unlink them at any time, and Claude will no longer be able to access their data once they are disconnected.
Speaking more, the Personal Finance feature is starting its beta rollout this week in the United States for users subscribed to the Pro, Max, and Ultra plans.
Stay tuned for more updates!
