Firstly, many days have passed since Russia-Ukraine tension breaks into a war. Russia is shelling Ukraine. Ukrainian residents are fleeing their nation fearing for their lives as Moscow shells the country.

As a consequence, Russia is facing ill effects of it on its trade and economy. At the same time, several companies are extending a help hand to Ukraine during the ongoing crisis.

The number of refugees grows from the initial numbers of 677,000 to 874,000 on Wednesday.

Airbnb CEO, Brian Chesky writes on Twitter that they need more hosts to provide for shelter during the days of crisis to Ukrainian refugees. So, those who can become a host should visit the link: https://t.co/oCtjjcU6Ll

One day after the announcement, over 25,000 prospective hosts visit the link.

Airbnb officials send letters to the leaders of 14 European countries to seek permission of accomodating Ukranian refugees in Airbnb properties located in the countries. Some of the countries are, Poland, Hungary, Germany, UK, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia and so on.

They would not only provide free stays but might also come up with longer stays.

Further, Airbnb partners with an NGO, HIAS, to provide support to refugees on humanitarian grounds.
