An upcoming OPPO tablet has now made its appearance on Singapore’s IMDA certification database, and interestingly, the same model number had earlier appeared on the Indian BIS certification platform as well. While a tipster had earlier claimed that the device could be related to the OPPO Pad 5 Pro, the latest certification mentions it simply as ‘OPPO Pad’, making its exact identity even more interesting.

OPPO Pad (OPD2516) – IMDA Certification
On the IMDA database, an upcoming OPPO Pad carrying the model number OPD2516 has been listed under the ‘LPREQ – Low Power Radio Equipment’ category. Its equipment type has been mentioned as ‘Radio Frequency Equipment Device’, while SINOPPEL DEVICE PTE. LTD. is listed as its supplier.
Alongside this upcoming tablet, an OPPO Pencil carrying the model number OPN2505 has also appeared on the IMDA certification database. It has been categorized under ‘Induction Loop Communication System / WPT / WPC’, and SINOPPEL DEVICE PTE. LTD. is again mentioned as its supplier.
Speaking more, the same OPD2516 model number had earlier made its appearance on India’s BIS certification database, although the certification did not reveal the actual moniker of the device. At the time, tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore claimed that OPD2516 could belong to the Indian variant of the OPPO Pad 5 Pro. Notably, the Chinese OPPO Pad 5 Pro carries a different model number – OPD2511.
However, what makes this latest certification more interesting is that the IMDA database mentions the equipment description simply as ‘OPPO Pad’, rather than OPPO Pad 5 Pro. To recall, OPPO had already introduced its first tablet under the OPPO Pad moniker in China back in 2022.
Since the original OPPO Pad branding was used for the 2022 Chinese model, there is also a possibility that the brand could use the simpler ‘OPPO Pad’ moniker for OPD2516 outside China. In that case, this upcoming tablet could potentially arrive as a new OPPO Pad for the global market rather than carrying the OPPO Pad 5 Pro branding. However, this is only a possibility at the moment, and the IMDA listing does not confirm that ‘OPPO Pad’ is indeed its final marketing name.
On the other hand, if the earlier tipster claim turns out to be accurate, OPD2516 could instead be a global/Indian version of the OPPO Pad 5 Pro, possibly arriving with a different moniker outside China. The OPPO Pad 5 Pro was introduced in China earlier this year and its Chinese model is listed as OPD2511.
As mentioned, the latest IMDA certification falls short of revealing any key specifications or the final marketing moniker of OPD2516. Hence, whether it will arrive as the OPPO Pad, OPPO Pad 5 Pro, or under an entirely different moniker cannot be said for sure at the moment.
With the tablet now appearing on both the BIS and IMDA certification databases, more details regarding its identity and launch could possibly be revealed in the coming days.
