While Xiaomi is currently preparing for the upcoming launch of its Redmi Note 17 series in its home market in China, scheduled to take place tomorrow, on the 14th of July 2026, a new update regarding the standard Redmi Note 17 5G smartphone has now been shared by a tipster. Via this update, the color options and one of the storage options of the device for the Indian market have been revealed.

Redmi Note 17 5G – Indian Color and Storage Options Tipped
The new update comes from tipster Abhishek Yadav, who has shared that Xiaomi will be bringing the Redmi Note 17 5G smartphone to the Indian market in two color choices. These include Blue and Dark Night (Black) colors. A 6GB/128GB storage option of the device has also been mentioned by the tipster.
At present, only the 6GB/128GB storage variant has been revealed, however, more storage options are likely to be introduced once the device moves closer to its expected Indian launch.
Regarding the specifications of the Indian version, the tipster has not mentioned anything as such. However, if you recall, the Indian variant of the previous Redmi Note 15 5G smartphone was launched with almost the same specification sheet as that of its Chinese counterpart, but with slight variations in the camera system and battery capacity.
Based on this, it is likely that the upcoming Redmi Note 17 5G Indian variant may also arrive with specifications similar to the Chinese version, along with certain market-specific changes. Notably, Xiaomi has already started teasing the key features of the device, and just yesterday, another tipster had revealed several of its expected specifications as well.
As per the details revealed earlier, the Redmi Note 17 5G is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor, and it may feature a 7″ Samsung E4 Pro display screen with a 1080p resolution. A brightness level ranging between 1200 nits and 1800 nits is also said to be supported on the device.
In terms of battery, an 8000mAh battery backup is expected to be given, along with up to 45W wired fast charging and 22.5W wired reverse charging support. On the camera side, a 50MP main camera is also said to be featured.
A short-focus optical fingerprint scanner, IP65-rated body, and plastic middle frame are pointed out to be its other key specifications.
