Xiaomi has already started teasing the launch of its next Redmi Note series smartphone in India, and it is expected to be the Redmi Note 17 5G. While Xiaomi prepares to launch the device in the Indian market, we at The Tech Outlook have spotted its global variant on the UAE’s TDRA certification website.

Redmi Note 17 5G (26081RA18G) – TDRA Certification
As per the details mentioned on the certification page, a Redmi smartphone carrying the model number ‘26081RA18G’ has been listed with the marketing name of ‘Redmi Note 17 5G’ and is categorised as a ‘Mobile Phone’. Further, it has received approval to list with the equipment registration number ‘ER62449/26’ on the 23rd of July 2026.

Notably, Xiaomi’s regional model numbers generally use the suffixes ‘G’, ‘I’, and ‘C’ to denote the Global, Indian, and Chinese variants, respectively. The ‘G’ suffix in the newly certified model number therefore confirms that the listed device is the global version of the Redmi Note 17 5G. The same model number was also recently spotted on Thailand’s NBTC certification platform, which similarly confirmed its marketing name.
Sadly, no specifications of the Redmi Note 17 5G have been revealed through its TDRA certification; however, the approval suggests that the smartphone will likely be launched in the UAE and other global markets.
Along with this, previous reports have revealed that the Indian variant of the Redmi Note 17 5G is expected to pack an 8,000mAh battery, whereas its global version could arrive with a slightly smaller 7,700mAh battery. Apart from this battery-related change, the global and Indian variants are expected to offer specifications similar to the Chinese model, possibly with a few regional changes.
For now, only its India launch is hinted at, but we expect the global launch will also follow soon.
