Redmi 17 4G (2606FRN72Y) Clears Malaysian SIRIM Certification, Launch Looks Imminent

Xiaomi recently launched its latest Redmi Note 17 series in its home market of China, and rumors concerning the global and Indian debut of the devices have also started making rounds online. Apart from the Redmi Note 17 series, the Redmi 17 5G and Redmi 17 4G smartphones are also expected to break their cover soon, as the devices have previously surfaced on multiple certification databases. Adding to this, we have now spotted the upcoming Redmi 17 4G smartphone on the Malaysian SIRIM certification database.

Redmi 17 4G – Malaysian SIRIM Certification

On the Malaysian SIRIM certification database, the upcoming Redmi smartphone carrying the model number ‘2606FRN72Y’ has been listed with the type approval code ‘RGQL/19L/0726/S(26-3167)’. It has been categorized as a ‘Mobile’ under the product type, and the certification approval was granted to the device on July 10th, 2026.

While nothing concerning the specifications of the smartphone can be derived from the SIRIM listing, the certification suggests that the Redmi 17 4G could be making its way to the Malaysian market soon. Furthermore, the same ‘2606FRN72Y’ model number had previously appeared on the Indonesian SDPPI and TKDN certification databases as well.

Speaking more, a few rumors have claimed that the same smartphone could be launched under the POCO branding as the POCO C95 Pro 4G in certain markets. The device is also tipped to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 chipset, however, it has not yet been spotted on the Geekbench database and its processor details are still under wraps.

4GB/128GB, 6GB/128GB, 6GB/256GB, 6GB/512GB, 8GB/256GB, and 8GB/512GB are the memory variants that were revealed via its earlier FCC database.

Also to add, two more model numbers of ‘26012RN62A’ and ‘26012RN62L’ have appeared on the GSMA database. These model numbers are believed to be associated with the global and Latin American variants of the upcoming Redmi smartphone.
