Redmi K100 Pro

We have already covered several instances where the upcoming POCO F9 Pro and POCO F9 Ultra smartphones have made their appearances through leaks and certifications. Well, now ahead of their official announcement, the complete specifications, renders and expected European pricing of both smartphones have been shared online.

Read more about these below.

POCO F9 Pro – Specs and Features

Starting with the POCO F9 Pro, the smartphone is expected to arrive as the global counterpart of the recently launched Redmi K100 Pro. It is tipped to feature a 6.59-inch plastic OLED display with QHD resolution and support for up to a massive 185Hz refresh rate.

The display panel is reportedly custom-made by TCL CSOT for Xiaomi, with Xiaomi itself said to have contributed towards the material composition used for the panel. Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection will be present at the front, while the rear is expected to use fibreglass-reinforced plastic along with a metal frame.

Under the hood, the POCO F9 Pro is tipped to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, with its CPU reaching clock speeds of up to 4.6GHz. The smartphone is expected to arrive with 12GB and 16GB RAM options along with 256GB and 512GB storage variants. Expandable storage will reportedly not be supported.

Speaking of the cameras, the device is tipped to feature a 200MP main camera with an f/1.68 aperture and OIS support. It will be joined by an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom, a 60mm equivalent focal length, f/2.0 aperture and OIS.

At the front, users are expected to get a 32MP selfie camera. The smartphone is also tipped to support up to 8K video recording at 30fps and 4K recording at up to 60fps.

Another interesting addition is a specially tuned Bose speaker placed at the rear near the camera module. The device will also feature an IP69-rated design for dust and water resistance.

Coming to the battery, and this is where one of the biggest differences compared to its Chinese counterpart can be seen, the POCO F9 Pro is tipped to pack a 6,330mAh battery with support for up to 100W wired fast charging and USB Power Delivery. The device is expected to weigh around 206 grams.

Speaking of its expected pricing, the POCO F9 Pro is tipped to start at around EUR 799 in Germany for the 12GB/256GB variant. However, the pricing is still based on a leak and has not been officially confirmed by POCO yet.

POCO F9 Ultra – Specs and Features

Coming to the POCO F9 Ultra, this smartphone is expected to arrive as the global counterpart of the Redmi K100 Pro Max and will get a larger 6.85-inch plastic OLED display with a resolution of 2608 × 1200 pixels and support for up to a 185Hz refresh rate.

Similar to the Pro model, its display will reportedly be a custom-made TCL CSOT panel developed with Xiaomi’s involvement in the material composition. Gorilla Glass 7i protection, a fibreglass-reinforced plastic back and a metal frame are also expected.

Under the hood, the smartphone is tipped to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset with clock speeds reaching up to 4.6GHz. It is expected to be available with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, with no support for expandable storage.

Speaking of its cameras, the POCO F9 Ultra is tipped to come with a 200MP main camera featuring an f/1.68 aperture and OIS. Unlike the Pro variant’s 8MP ultra-wide camera, the Ultra is said to feature a 50MP ultra-wide camera.

A 50MP telephoto camera will also be present, this time offering 5x optical zoom with a 120mm equivalent focal length, f/3.0 aperture and OIS support. At the front, the smartphone is expected to feature the same 32MP selfie camera. It will reportedly support 8K video recording at 30fps and 4K recording at up to 60fps.

The POCO F9 Ultra will also feature a Bose-tuned speaker at the rear, while an LED notification ring will be placed around the speaker module. It will come with an IP69-rated design as well.

Coming to its battery, the POCO F9 Ultra is tipped to pack a much larger 8,050mAh battery with support for up to 100W wired fast charging and USB Power Delivery. It is expected to weigh around 235 grams.

Speaking of its expected pricing, the 16GB/512GB variant of the POCO F9 Ultra is tipped to be priced at around EUR 999 in Germany. Again, the pricing has not yet been officially confirmed by the brand.

Smaller Batteries Than Their Redmi Counterparts

Now, if we compare the battery specifications with their respective Chinese counterparts, this is where the major difference can be seen.

The Redmi K100 Pro comes equipped with a massive 8,580mAh battery, whereas the upcoming POCO F9 Pro is tipped to get a significantly smaller 6,330mAh battery. This means a reduction of around 2,250mAh.

Similarly, the Redmi K100 Pro Max features a 9,070mAh battery, while its expected global counterpart, the POCO F9 Ultra, is tipped to arrive with an 8,050mAh battery, making it around 1,020mAh smaller.

Other than the battery capacities and some regional changes, both upcoming POCO smartphones appear to share most of their core specifications and design with their respective Redmi K100 Pro series counterparts.

For now, POCO has not officially announced the launch date of the POCO F9 Pro or F9 Ultra, though the latest leak suggests that both devices will be making their way to the European market soon.
