We had recently covered the news regarding the pre-reserve page going live on Amazon India for OPPO’s upcoming Reno 16 5G series, along with the privilege pack that has been introduced by the brand. Now, a new update has revealed that only two smartphones could be launched under the upcoming Reno 16 5G series in India, unlike a previous report by 91Mobiles which had mentioned four devices.
Additionally, the tipster has also shared the launch date and open sale date of the two upcoming Reno 16 5G series smartphones for the Indian market. Read more about it below.
A new detail has been shared by tipster @Gadgetsdata, as per which the upcoming OPPO Reno 16 5G series is expected to launch in India with two models – OPPO Reno 16 5G and OPPO Reno 16C 5G. This also seems to be in line with what has already been spotted, as both of these model numbers have reportedly appeared on the Indian BIS certification database as well.
The tipster further adds that both smartphones will be launching in India on July 2nd, while the open sale is said to begin from July 9th onwards. He has also mentioned that the Pro variant will be launched at a later date, however, the exact launch timeline for the same has not been revealed yet.
Notably, the 91Mobiles report had suggested that four variants would be introduced under the Reno 16 5G series in India. However, as per this new tip, there is no mention of the Reno 16 Pro Mini model, and only the Reno 16 5G and Reno 16C 5G models are expected to arrive first in the country.
Coming to the expected specifications, the tipster claims that the Reno 16C 5G will feature a 6.57″ display and will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC. The smartphone is also tipped to pack either a 7000mAh or 6500mAh battery.
On the other hand, the OPPO Reno 16 5G is said to feature a 6.32″ display and is expected to come equipped with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC, which was also previously confirmed via its Geekbench listing. A 6700mAh battery is also expected on the device.
More updates regarding the upcoming OPPO Reno 16 5G series are likely to be revealed in the coming days.
