Who is Amit Pandey that joined NASA Artemis 1 Mission?

A top scientist from Uttarakhand, India, will work on NASA’s planned Artemis 1 mission. Amit Pandey works for Lockheed Martin, one of the mission’s contractors with NASA.

Amit stated in an interview with ETV Bharat that “America started the Apollo programme in the 1960s, which allowed astronaut Neil Armstrong to lay foot on the moon. Similar to this, NASA is starting a long-term moon programme so astronauts can reside there and conduct research.

He also shared a tweet from Lockheed Martin that included a moon-related video. “Moon here I come,” he wrote. I adore it.

Pandey finished his early education at the Kendriya Vidyalaya in Haldwani, according to ETV Bharat. He eventually earned his B.Tech. from Banaras Hindu University and attended the University of Arizona for his master’s programme. In 2009, Pandey earned his PhD from the University of Maryland.

What is NASA’s Artemis 1 Mission?

The NASA Artemis programme is set to conduct an unmanned test flight called Artemis 1. It is also the first flight of the entire Orion spacecraft and the agency’s Space Launch System super heavy-lift launch vehicle. The current launch date for Artemis 1 is August 29, 2022.

The Space Launch System rocket and the Orion spacecraft will undergo their first unmanned flight test during Artemis I, according to NASA. On August 29, NASA will launch the unmanned Artemis 1 mission using the Orbit Launcher System, and the Orion spacecraft will take three manikins named Zohar, Helga, and Campos to space to serve as human substitutes for various experiments and investigations. To undertake testing related to the mission, a huge number of sensors will be put onto them.
