ISRO’s LVM3-M5 to launch the CMS-03 communication satellite on 2nd November

Recently, ISRO has officially confirmed that the LVM3 launch vehicle is scheduled to launch the CMS-03 communication satellite in its 5th operational flight (LVM3-M5) on November 02, 2025, at 17:26 IST from SDSC SHAR.

The launch will be live-streamed on ISRO’s YouTube channel from 4:56 PM IST onwards.

It is revealed that CMS-03 is a multi-band communication satellite that will produce services over a wide oceanic region, including the Indian landmass. It weighs about 4400kg and is said to be the heaviest communication satellite that will be launched to Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) from Indian soil.

LVM3 is the same launch vehicle that launched the Chandrayaan-3 mission. India became the first country to land successfully near the lunar south pole. This vehicle has been fully assembled and integrated with the spacecraft and has been moved to the Launch Pad on October 26, 2025, for further pre-launch operations.

The LVM3-M5 flight sequence includes- 2xS200 ignition, L110 ignition, 2xS200 separation, PLF Separation, L110 Separation, C25 Ignition, C25 shut off, and CMS-03 Separation.
