Elon Musk Will Discontinue His Number In Few Months, Here Is The Reason

Elon Musk has announced in an X post that he will discontinue his phone number and will only use the X platform for audio and video calls. The feature has again come to the centre after months of gap and can be considered as an attempt by Musk to promote this feature.

X launched the early access of the video and audio calling feature for some users last year. It was announced by Musk in August of last year when he wrote that it would work on iOS, Android, Mac, and PC. And there won’t be any requirement of a number for making calls. Recently X developer Enrique Barragan wrote on X that the audio and video calls feature is rolling out for Android users.

As per the X website, all accounts can receive calls but only premium subscribers can make audio and video calls. The platform also offers enhanced privacy with a new setting that when enabled helps users protect their privacy. This feature is in line with Musk’s ambition to make X “everything app”.
