Nothing OS 4.0 Open Beta 2 now rolling out for Nothing Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro users

Nothing recently released the Nothing OS 4.0 Open Beta update for the Nothing Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro users on 24th October 2025. After almost a week, Nothing is now rolling out the Open Beta 2 update for these smartphones.

The update introduces two notable improvements, including enhanced photo capture with a more precise zoom preview and better stability across essential apps.

The update has a total size of 55.44 MB and was first reported by a user with the handle @techiboy96 on X.

The Beta APK is not required for users who are already on Open Beta 1. The Beta APK is not required for users who are already on Open Beta 1. Those users can detect and install the new update directly from their phones.

Nothing has also confirmed that the Open Beta OTA terminals will be closed on 7th November 2025, meaning users will not be able to join the Beta programme after this date.

Rollback to Stable

If you need to return to Nothing OS 3.2, follow the steps below:

From OBT 1 (Asteroids-B4.0-251021-1539), download the relevant rollback package:

If you’re on OBT 2 (Asteroids-B4.0-251027-1838), download the appropriate rollback package:

Phone (3a) Pro

Then, go to Settings > System > Nothing Beta Hub, tap Import file, select the rollback package, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

Currently, there is no official timeline regarding the stable release of Nothing OS 4.0 for these smartphones. However, rumours suggest that Nothing may roll out the stable update for at least the Phone (3), Phone (2), Phone (2a), and Phone (2a) Plus by mid-November. That said, this is only speculation, and users should wait for an official announcement from Nothing.
