Nothing OS 4.0 Open Beta now available for Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro

When Nothing announced the Nothing OS 4.0 Open Beta, for reasons unknown, both the Nothing Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro were not included in that list. However, Nothing has now released the Nothing OS 4.0 Open Beta update for both the Nothing Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro users.

According to a post on X by user @techiboy96, those who had applied for the Nothing OS 4.0 Open Beta on their Nothing Phone (3a) or Phone (3a) Pro are now receiving the update. The total size of the update is 2.21 GB, and the user has also shared the complete changelog.

The update brings Android 16 Beta, along with several new features and enhancements. The Pop-up View now supports two floating icons, and there are two new lock screen clock faces. Most Quick Settings tiles now support the 2×2 size, and an Extra Dark Mode has been added for an immersive dark style. The update also introduces an AI (LLM) usage dashboard in Essential Space, system app optimisations for faster startup, and a new Camera preset “Stretch” by Jordan Hemingway. Other additions include Essential Apps creation with AI widgets, a Playground to explore community creations, Lock Glimpse for dynamic lock screen refresh, and redesigned Nothing icons with a minimal look.

As with all beta releases, it’s recommended not to install this update on your primary device, as beta versions may contain bugs or cause system instability.
