iOS 26 Will Finally Let You Set Music as Your Ringtone Directly

For years, iPhone users had to rely on complex workarounds or third-party tools to set a custom music file as their ringtone, a stark contrast to Android and other platforms where users have long enjoyed this flexibility by default. However, with the upcoming iOS 26 update, Apple is finally addressing this limitation.
According to tipster Mukul Sharma, a new option titled “Set as Ringtone” has been spotted in a closed beta version of iOS 26. A shared screenshot reveals that this feature will allow users to set any audio file directly as their default ringtone, offering a much simpler and more user-friendly solution than before. This feature is expected to roll out more broadly once iOS 26 enters its public beta phase in the coming weeks.

Additionally, iOS 26 is shaping up to bring smarter capabilities powered by Apple Intelligence. We recently reported that the system will be able to read OTPs (one-time passwords) not just from traditional SMS but also from third-party apps like WhatsApp and Gmail. This could likely extend to more messaging and email platforms, enhancing the iPhone’s ability to autofill verification codes seamlessly across apps.
