NASA’s Mars Rover is scheduled for landing, Live Updates of Mars Rover

NASA’s Mars rover Perseverance hurtled into the final stretch of its seven-month journey from Earth en route to a nail-biting landing attempt Thursday on an ancient, alien lake bed, where scientists hope to find signs of fossilized microbial life.

Mars 2020 is a Mars rover mission by NASA’s Mars Exploration Program that includes the Perseverance rover and the Ingenuity helicopter drone. It was launched on 30 July 2020 at 11:50 UTC

Nearly seven months after its takeoff to Mars, the NASA Perseverance rover is expected to land at the Red Planet’s Jezero Crater on February 18. If successful, Perseverance will be the fifth NASA rover ever to touch down on Mars after Sojourner, twin rovers Spirit and Opportunity and Curiosity. After landing, Perseverance will spend the coming years scouring for signs of ancient microbial life in a historic mission that will bring back samples from Mars to Earth and prepare the way for future human visitors.
