Its single-core and multi-core power efficiency are also claimed to have improved by 37% and 61%, respectively.
The chipset features the Dimensity Scheduling Engine 3.0 with an AI Compute Fusion Architecture, which is claimed to deliver 40% faster LLM token generation and 27% faster on-device AI model launching. It supports LPDDR6 memory with 33% higher effective memory bandwidth, along with UFS 5.0 storage offering twice the read and write speeds of dual-channel UFS 4.

For AI processing, the Dimensity 9600 Pro uses a dual-NPU architecture featuring the MediaTek NPU 1090 and Dimensity Agentic AI Engine. It offers twice the INT4 compute performance, 51% faster LLM prefill performance, and 55% higher token-generation performance per watt. The Super Efficient NPU 2.0 is also claimed to offer 40% better power efficiency.
On-device Mixture of Experts LLM inference, LLM compression, proactive suggestions, and scene detection are among its other AI capabilities.
Speaking of imaging, the chipset features an AI Imaging Fusion Architecture that combines the ISP and NPU. It supports continuous subject focus tracking at 60fps, 17EV HDR video capture with LOFIC and UFCC, and 4K60 content-aware semantic processing. Support for 4K120 Cinematic LOG video recording and slow-motion video recording at up to 4K240 has also been revealed.
For graphics and gaming, the chipset supports direct GPU–NPU synchronisation and PC-level neural graphics super-resolution, along with native gameplay at up to 185fps. MediaTek claims 27% higher peak performance, 24% better efficiency at peak performance, and up to 18% faster ray-tracing performance. Hardware-accelerated OMM ray tracing and multi-material ray-traced reflections are also supported.
A hardware-based H.266 video decoder, BT.2020/Rec.2020 display colour pipeline, and multi-frame overdrive for reducing motion blur are offered as well.
On the connectivity side, the Dimensity 9600 Pro features a 5G-Advanced modem with in-modem AI and five-carrier aggregation, offering download speeds of over 7.4Gbps. Real-time network optimisation for reduced gaming latency, the MediaTek AI Connectivity Framework, 30% better positioning accuracy, improved roaming stability, and Bluetooth 6.2 support have also been revealed.
For security, the chipset features a hardware Root of Trust with tamper-resistant protection, post-quantum cryptography protection, and hypervisor isolation using pKVM for protecting proactive AI features.
