Google is scheduled to hold its next Made by Google event on the 12th of August 2026 (13th August 2026 in India), where the company is expected to unveil its latest Pixel 11 series smartphones alongside the Pixel Watch 5. Now, a new development has been added to the story, as Google has confirmed that the Pixel family will be receiving price adjustments because of rising memory costs.

Google Confirms Price Adjustments for Pixel Smartphones
During a recent interview with 9to5Google, Google’s Vice President of Devices and Services, Shakil Barkat, revealed that the company is currently experiencing a severe supplier-driven RAM memory crisis.
Speaking about the increasing costs, Barkat pointed out that “there’s never been an increase in memory prices like the world’s going through right now.” He further explained that Google had protected its customers from supply fluctuations for as long as possible, however, the economics have now fundamentally changed and the company is also being affected by it.
As a result, Google will gradually roll out price adjustments across its Pixel family to match the changing supply situation. This will include the upcoming Pixel 11 series, along with its existing models as well. Though they didn’t reveal exactly when this price hike for other models will be announced, chances are it will be after the Pixel 11 series launch.
Speaking more about the upcoming Pixel 11 series, a recent leak claimed that the starting prices of the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro could increase by around USD 100. The standard Pixel 11 is tipped to start at USD 899 instead of the USD 799 starting price of its predecessor.
The base storage option is expected to be upgraded from 128GB to 256GB; however, the 256GB variants of the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL are tipped to arrive with 12GB of RAM instead of the 16GB RAM offered across the previous-generation Pro models.
Leaked pricing further suggests that the Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold could also become USD 100 more expensive. However, Google has not yet officially confirmed the prices, memory variants, or storage options of the upcoming smartphones.
The latest development comes at a time when several smartphone brands have already started increasing their product prices because of rising memory and component costs. Qualcomm has also reportedly informed its customers about double-digit price increases for chip shipments starting from the 1st of September 2026. Therefore, buying a new smartphone could probably become more expensive in the coming months.
