Qualcomm Reportedly Plans Double-Digit Price Increase

As per a Bloomberg News report, Qualcomm, which is known as one of the biggest smartphone processor manufacturers, sent a letter to its global customers on Friday, the 24th of July 2026. Through this letter, the company reportedly pointed out that it will be increasing the prices of its products by a double-digit percentage, and the new pricing will come into effect for products shipped after the 1st of September 2026.

Speaking about the reason behind this reported price hike, Qualcomm is said to have revealed that it has exhausted its ability to absorb the rising costs being charged by its suppliers. The company had also reportedly made attempts to source alternative components from new suppliers; however, the ongoing component shortages and increasing supply chain expenses have now forced it to revise its product pricing.

Looking into the broader situation, the technology industry is currently facing a historic supply shortage because of the rapid expansion of AI data centres, which is affecting everything from smartphones and supercomputers to vehicles.

With this new alleged Price hike announcement, things are not looking good for smartphone manufacturers and even customers, as the devices will become more and more expensive. Stay tuned for more updates!
