Realme celebrates its 100 million smartphones shipments in India

China-based tech company Realme is celebrating its recently achieved milestone in India. Realme India’s official X account announced today that Realme’s 100 million smartphones have been shipped in India up until now. This data is sourced from Realme shipment records. As per Counterpoint Research Realme with 14.4% market share in the Indian smartphone market was at the third position in Q3, 2023. In terms of market share, it showed growth from Q2 to Q3 of 2023 making it one of the top five brands that showed growth in market share.

It was at the third position in India’s smartphone online market in Q3 2023 in the INR 20K-30K price band. Reports at that time suggested that the company’s management, demand, marketing promotions and new launches have been the reason behind this success.

This was not the sole milestone that made the buzz last year. It also celebrated its achievement of the shipment of 200 million units of smartphones since its inception in 2018. This achievement made the company the first few companies to achieve this in such a short period.

However, it’s worth mentioning that users are moving towards the premium segment in which Apple still holds a major share as per Counterpoint Research. Foldables have emerged as new competitors in the premium segment. Apart from Apple, the market share of premium smartphones in the global market is held by brands like Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, and Oppo. Realme still has a long way to go to enter the other segments.
