Tinder announces Double Date feature that allows you and a friend match and chat with potential matches together
Tinder- a popular online dating and geosocial networking app is designed for various purposes, from casual dating to serious relationships, and even making new friends. In an attempt to attract more Gen-Z users and make dating more fun, Tinder has now introduced a new Double Date feature. Yes, you read that right, you can now swipe with your BFF and find your perfect matches.

This feature is available for Android, iOS, and Web users in selected markets. With Double Date, you can create up to 3 pairs of friends and swipe on other pairs of friends. These Double Dates will be shown to you in Discovery the same way individual profiles are, with the difference being that both people from the Double Date are shown side-by-side for you to view.
When you match with another Double Date pair, a chat is opened between the 4 of you. You can have a group chat with your matched Double Date pair. You may also swipe right on an individual in your matched pair and open an individual DM for direct connection.
This new feature reduces the pressure and anxiety often associated with solo dating, creating a more comfortable environment for everyone involved. The group chat is expected to break the ice and make it easier to plan casual meetups.
How to find the Double Date feature?
- Tap the Double Date icon on your Discovery or Messages screen
- Invite up to 3 friends to pair up with
- Begin Swiping on other Double Dates
