Samsung Rolls Out New Always On Display Update With New UI and Animations for Google Sports, Soccer Goal Celebrations, and More

Samsung, the South Korean consumer electronics maker, has now released a new update for its Always On Display, and several users have already started reporting about its availability online.

Here is what is new in this update.

Samsung Always On Display – New Update Released

As per the details shared first by tipster Tarun Vats via his X handle, this new update with the version number “v8.9.29.23” is now available for Always On Display on some Galaxy devices. While the exact names of the handsets receiving it were not mentioned, Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S25 users have reported in the comment section that they have received the update on their devices. Furthermore, the tipster has suggested users to update it via the Galaxy Store app, where it is currently available.

Talking about what is new, the latest Always On Display update is said to bring a new UI and animations for Google Sports, along with soccer goal celebrations and key match moments support in the Now Bar. Apart from this, another user in the comment section also posted that they have received the update with the version number “8.9.36.23” and a size of 48.11MB, which could be a later version or may possibly be device-specific. However, this version does not state what is new in it, apart from the permissions required to run it.
