Pixel Watch 3 now receives Loss of Pulse Detection feature; Check out the availability details

Just a few hours back, we shared with you that Google’s AI-powered Scam Detection feature has been rolled out for Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel Watch 3 in the US, enabling users to stay alert from scams and be informed right on the wrist.

Other than this, the Loss of Pulse Detection feature is also made available for the Pixel Watch 3. In February, it was revealed that this feature on the Pixel Watch 3 has received FDA clearance, and the feature is now being rolled out to the smartwatch officially.

Loss of Pulse Detection feature in Pixel Watch 3

If Pixel Watch 3’s heart rate sensor detects signs of pulselessness, an AI-based algorithm combines pulse sensor data with other inputs like movement signals to confirm a loss of pulse event. In case of loss of pulse due to cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, circulatory failure, overdose, or poisoning, the watch will prompt an emergency call.

Availability

This feature is currently available in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States on Pixel Watch 3.

To set up Loss of Pulse Detection:

  • On your phone, open the Google Pixel Watch app
  • Tap Safety & emergency> Loss of Pulse Detection (Make sure that the Personal Safety app on your watch and Pixel Watch app on your phone is updated)
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to turn on the feature. After you turn on the feature, it monitors your heart rate signal to detect a potential loss of pulse whenever you are wearing your watch.
