Take a break feature on Instagram is making debut as IG launches it.

The development is taking place under the light of Safer Internet Day 2022. Take a break feature is based on Instagram’s exisiting time management tool. On exceeding one’s adjusted daily time limit, Instagram notifies users that they have reached the daily usage limit of Instagram. Further, it allows users to mute notifications coming from Instagram.

‘Take a break’ feature was first launched in the US, UK, New Zealand, Ireland, Canada. However, now it’s launched across the globe. Thus, it will also be available in India.

Although, it will be available on IoS immediately. Yet, Android users might get to enjoy the feature a week later.

 

What is in the ‘take a break’ for Instagram users?

As take a break feature on Instagram launches, there are important things for you too in it.

  • It’s emphasis is on mental health. Mental health experts deem it important that an internet user must know that they need a break. Usually, a user doesn’t realise that they need a break from scrolling.
  • This feature will flash a message asking to take a break. Moreover, if need arises will suggest users to improve on the frequency of taking breaks. Additionally, there will also be expert’s tips on it.
  • A youth community called ‘Break Zaroori Hai’ takes the promotion of the feature under their wings. They will campaign for it under ‘We The Young’.
