Record Mode now rolling out on ChatGPT’s macOS desktop app to Pro, Enterprise and Edu users

OpenAI recently introduced Record Mode, a new capability that is available on ChatGPT’s macOS desktop app. Earlier, this feature was only available for ChatGPT Team subscribers, but it is now being rolled out to Pro, Enterprise, and Edu users as well.
What is Record Mode?
With record mode, ChatGPT can transcribe and summarize audio recordings like meetings, brainstorms or voice notes. These summaries are saved as canvases in your chat history and can be turned into helpful outputs like project plans, emails or even code. ChatGPT can also reference canvases and transcripts from your past recordings, in order to provide more helpful responses across conversation.
Recording length is up to 120 minutes per session. Longer sessions stop automatically and generate notes. Audio files are deleted immediately after transcription, while transcripts inherit workspace retention policies. For Enterprise and Edu workspaces, canvases and transcripts from record mode are accessible by the Compliance API.
Users can tap the new Record button at the bottom of any chat. Once the users have given permission for the microphone, the chatbot will start capturing the meeting. Record Mode will be disabled by default for all Enterprise and Edu workspaces, and must be enabled by a workspace owner.
