Yesterday, Claude announced that it is rebranding its Max plans, and the company is also removing the 5-hour limit for verified Ultra accounts.
We’re renaming our Max plans:
Max 5x → Max
Max 20x → UltraMax is still $100/month, and Ultra is still $200. If you’re a subscriber, there’s nothing you need to do.

Claude renames its Max plans; five-hour limit removed from verified Ultra accounts
The Max 5x is renamed Max, and the Max 20x is renamed Ultra. The Max plan is still $100/month, and Ultra is still priced at $200/month, with no action required for existing subscribers.
The Ultra plan includes 10 times the Pro plan’s usage every week and has no five-hour limit for verified accounts. Newer accounts keep a temporary limit until they’re verified, which helps the company prevent abuse and fraud. Users will get an email when the limit is removed. Weekly limits remain unchanged.
The company automatically verifies Ultra accounts using factors like your account and payment history. It is specified that additional usage limits may apply to manage capacity and ensure fair access to all users. For example, Claude may limit your usage in other ways, such as weekly and monthly caps or model and feature usage, at its discretion.
