Deciding an outfit for a particular occasion can sometimes be a chaotic task, especially when you have multiple options in your wardrobe. To ease out this work for users, Meta has released a new AI fashion app: Style Sketch.
Style Sketch app
The app helps users create outfit combinations using clothes they already own. It can connect to Instagram or Facebook to build a virtual closet using previously shared photos. Users can also add clothing items manually by taking photos, recording short videos or importing images from their camera roll.
The features include:
- Outfit suggestions: Creates outfit combinations using clothes in the user’s wardrobe, based on their style and available items
- Virtual try-on: Displays suggested outfits on a realistic model matched to the user’s body shape and skin tone
- Individual item styling: Suggests different outfit combinations around a specific clothing item, such as a jacket or a pair of shoes
- Daily outfit planning: Suggests what to wear based on the weather
- Travel outfit planning: Creates day-by-day outfit plans based on the destination, trip duration, planned activities, and weather forecast
- Style Inspiration: Lets users browse looks and trends and find ways to recreate them using clothes from their own wardrobe
- Outfit sharing: Allows users to share outfit options with friends to get their opinions
Availability
Sky Sketch is free to use, and it is currently available on iOS and Android in Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand. Plans for a wider rollout are not disclosed yet.
If you recall, last month Google released some updates for its Google Photos app, which included the Wardrobe feature. The Wardrobe feature is similar to Style Sketch. Users can curate their ultimate digital closet with Wardrobe, which automatically catalogs the clothing in their photos and lets them virtually style and try on new looks.
