Yesterday, Anthropic announced that Claude for Legal (launched in May) now includes ready-to-use artifacts for legal work that teams can adapt with their own data and connectors and share across the business.
New in Claude for Legal: a gallery of ready-made artifacts for contract review, regulatory horizon scans, cite checks, and more.

Claude artifacts for legal work
Artifacts are interactive tools, such as trackers and dashboards, that teams can use and share in Claude. The company’s new legal gallery includes artifacts for specific tasks, such as reviewing a stack of contracts, tracking regulatory changes, and taking in legal requests from the business.
Each artifact opens with an example, so legal professionals can see how the work comes together before adding their own data and connectors. Each answer or output has a link to its source.
What’s in the gallery?
- Cite check compares a legal document with its sources and flags quotes that don’t match, wrong page numbers, and sources that don’t support the claim.
- Jurisdiction survey matrix compares a legal topic, such as data breach notice rules, across states or countries in one table, with links to the underlying law.
- Matter board turns engagement letters, emails, or spreadsheets into one board of open matters, showing the owner, next step, and next deadline.
- Playbook deviation board compares contracts with your company’s standard terms, flags each clause that differs, and sends it to the person who approves exceptions.
- Regulatory horizon scan maps upcoming regulations on a timeline, based on your company’s business and where it operates, and ranks them by impact with links to the sources.
- Tabular review builds a table from a set of contracts, showing the terms you ask about, such as severance or non-competes, with links to the exact language.
Legal professionals can ask Claude to tailor artifacts to their team and use connectors to bring in their playbooks or research sources, so nobody has to upload documents manually. Since the company launched Claude for Legal, it has added more than 60 legal connectors, including Bloomberg Law, Filevine, Ivo, Legora, and Patlytics.
Artifacts enable collaboration inside and outside the organization. A legal team can work on an artifact with colleagues across the business or with clients and partners, with sharing settings that ensure privacy and support ethical walls between teams.
The company has partnered with legal tech companies and law firms to build artifacts for legal professionals:
- AI Governance Benchmark built by Goodwin
- Harvey Intake built by Harvey
- Obligations Checker built by Foley & Lardner
- Subpoena Response Tool built by PwC
The gallery includes nine access-to-justice artifacts, five of which were built by nonprofit and public interest organisations we supported with Claude credits:
- Criminal Charge Reality Check built by Zealous (opens in new tab) takes a criminal charge and shows defense teams the sentencing range, public data on how those cases usually end, and standard playbooks for release. New York only.
- Immigration Papers Reader, built by Mobile Pathways (opens in new tab), turns a client’s immigration paperwork into a plain-language first read of key dates and missing documents.
- Rent Ledger Reviewer built by Rising for Justice (opens in new tab) helps attorneys find errors in a landlord’s rent ledger when preparing an eviction case. Based on D.C. law.
- Record-Sealing Screener, built by Rising for Justice (opens in new tab), helps attorneys assess whether a client’s criminal record is eligible for sealing. Based on D.C. law.
- Record Clearance, built by The Access Project (opens in new tab), helps legal aid teams work out whether a client’s record can be cleared under their state’s rules.
