Apple Introduces Apple Intelligence- Personal Intelligence System Integrated Into iOS 18, iPadOS 18 And macOS Sequoia
Just a few hours ago we shared with you that Apple has officially unveiled iOS 18 at the WWDC 2024 event which comes with various new features and optimizations. A new feature integrated in iOS 18 was Apple Intelligence. Apple Intelligence also arrives with iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia.

What is Apple Intelligence?
This is a personal intelligence system integrated into iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia. It leverages generative models and personal context to deliver intelligent features and experiences across Apple devices. It offers personalized AI tools that help users with daily tasks while it processes data on the device to ensure user privacy and security.

Writing Tools
- Rewriting- Multiple versions available
- Proofreading and summarizing tools integrated into all apps
- Smart Reply suggestions and priority email surfacing in the Mail app
Image Creation
- Image Playground to create images in sketch, illustration, and animation styles
- Genmoji: Generative AI emoji based on profile pictures
- Clean-up tool for removing unwanted people and objects from photos
- Memories feature for creating video stories by typing descriptions, including song suggestions
Audio And Transcription
- Notes and Phone apps to allow record, transcribing and summarize audio
- Phone call recording will notify participants, summary provided after call ends
Siri Enhancements
- New look, remembers the context of the conversation, type questions to it
- Improved context creation and conversation understanding
- Siri can operate apps with on-screen awareness (coming over next year)
- ChatGPT integration will be available through Siri and systemwide writing tools
- Privacy Assurance- Requests and information not logged with options for ChatGPT premium features
Technical Aspects
- Private Cloud Compute: Sever-based models for complex queries without storing user data
- Independent verification: Privacy and security promise to be verifiable independently
The ChatGPT integration in Siri and Writing tools is expected to arrive later this year and not necessarily at initial iOS 18 launch. While Apple Intelligence is free to use and will initially be available in US English. It will be coming in Beta this fall.
