AI image editing capabilities now available in the Gemini app: Will be rolled out gradually to all users

Just a few days back, the Audio overview feature was made available on the Gemini app so that users can listen to their report or document uploaded like a podcast without the need to go through the whole document.

Well, there are some more surprises for the Gemini users, as Gemini’s latest update brings native AI image editing capabilities, letting you modify both generated and uploaded images with ease.

Users can now change the background, replace objects, add elements, and more. For example, you can upload one of your pictures and prompt Gemini to generate an image of what you would look like with different hair colors. You can also integrate text and images into your prompt to get more contextual responses.

The AI image editing works with compatible uploads. While an image created or edited with native image generation will include the invisible SynthID digital watermark. The company is also experimenting with adding a visible watermark on all images generated by Gemini.

Native image editing in Gemini started rolling out gradually from yesterday and will be expanding to more people in over 45 languages and most countries in the coming weeks. This is not yet available to Google Workspace or Education users.
