Xiaomi has now introduced the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max in its home market of China. Alongside the two flagship smartphones, the brand has also unveiled Transparent Editions of both models and a new accessory called the Xiaomi Pocket Guitar which we will talk about in another article.

Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max
The Xiaomi 18 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor, while the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max equips the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. The chipsets are manufactured using a 2nm process and are paired with the Adreno 850 GPU, with clock speeds of up to 5GHz. Xiaomi claims a 35% improvement in GPU performance, 40% lower GPU power consumption and an 80% improvement in NPU inference performance. For cooling, the phones combine OFFSET PoP packaging with a redesigned ring-shaped cold-pump system.
Both devices run HyperOS 4 with Super Xiao Ai 2.0, powered by Xiaomi’s MiMo foundation model. Its AI features include memory retention, autonomous task planning, multi-step task execution and cross-device coordination. The phones come with 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. This means that LPDDR6X RAM remains exclusive to the previously launched Xiaomi 18 Fold.
Regarding their battery specs, the Xiaomi 18 Pro packs a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, while the Pro Max gets a larger 8,500mAh battery. Both support 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, magnetic charging, and 27W wired and wireless reverse charging. Xiaomi says the batteries use a silicon content of up to 32%.
For their displays, the Xiaomi 18 Pro features a 6.4″ 1.5K M11 12-bit LTPO OLED screen, while the Pro Max has a larger 6.9″ M11 12-bit LTPO OLED display. Both support a 1–120Hz refresh rate, up to 4,000 nits peak brightness, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, DC dimming, the BT.2020 colour gamut and hardware-level privacy protection.
There is also a secondary AMOLED display at the rear of each phone. It measures 2.7″ on the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 2.9″ on the Pro Max. These rear displays support a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 4,000 nits brightness, and can show notifications, widgets, games, AI-generated wallpapers and more than 100 application cards. Both phones feature 0.99mm bezels and a micro-arc quad-curved frame. A physical AI button has also been given on the devices, allowing users to activate system-wide privacy protection with one click.
Xiaomi 18 Pro Series
On the camera side, both models sport a Leica-branded triple rear camera system which includes a 200MP Light Fusion 960-series primary camera with a Leica Summilux lens, Hyper OIS and an f/1.67 aperture, along with a 50MP Leica ultra-wide camera offering a 102-degree field of view and 5cm macro support. A 200MP Leica periscope telephoto camera with OIS and 12cm telemacro support completes the setup. The phones can record videos at up to 8K resolution or 4K at 120fps, while their 50MP front camera supports up to 4K 60fps recording.
Xiaomi has also introduced its Legendary Moment imaging system, which combines processing on the device with cloud-based enhancement. Other AI camera features include shooting-location recommendations, composition analysis, filter suggestions and real-time posing guidance.
Other key specs include 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, UWB, NFC, dual-frequency GPS, USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 1, an infrared sensor and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner. Both phones have stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio and a four-microphone array, while the Pro Max additionally features a triple-speaker system. They also carry IP66, IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro measures 151.8 × 72 × 8.46mm and weighs 203g, while the Pro Max measures 163.39 × 77.6 × 8.39mm and weighs 235g. Black, White, Purple and Green colour options are available for both devices. Their Transparent Editions feature a red transparent Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0 rear panel.
Pricing and availability
In China, the Xiaomi 18 Pro is priced at CNY 5,999 for the 12GB/256GB variant, CNY 6,999 for the 12GB/512GB variant, CNY 7,999 for the 16GB/512GB variant and CNY 8,999 for the 16GB/1TB variant. Its Transparent Edition is being made available only with 16GB/1TB memory and carries a price tag of CNY 9,999.
For the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, the 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, 16GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB variants are priced at CNY 6,999, CNY 7,999, CNY 8,999 and CNY 9,999, respectively. The Pro Max Transparent Edition also comes in a 16GB/1TB configuration, but is priced at CNY 10,999.
Both phones are now available to order in China, with sales scheduled to begin later this week. Regarding their global availability, Xiaomi has already confirmed that the series will launch in global markets later this year.
