Xiaomi 18 Pro Series chipset details confirmed and new Transparent Explorer edition teased; Xiaomi 18 Pro series global launch confirmed for this year

The Xiaomi 18 Pro series will be unveiled today in the Chinese market at 19:00 (local time). A lot of details related to this series are already known, and now, just a few hours before the launch of this series, the brand has shared some more updates.

Xiaomi 18 Pro Series: New details teased

The Xiaomi 18 Pro smartphone is confirmed to arrive with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, and the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max smartphone is confirmed to arrive with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 SoC.

With the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 SoC, the Pro Max model features a more advanced  Offset PoP high thermal conductivity advanced packaging SoC and a top-mounted high-performance heat dissipation sheet that further enhances its heat dissipation capabilities, allowing for sustained high performance.

Xiaomi’s HyperOS 4 system-level optimisations and these latest chipsets achieve extreme energy efficiency management with significantly reduced CPU and GPU power consumption, allowing for smooth operation even under heavy loads.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro series models are equipped with ultra-wideband cyber motors. The Pro model features a 7514 linear motor, increasing transient vibration by 75%. The Pro Max features a 0196C linear motor, increasing transient vibration by 112%. Covering 26 categories and 183 scenarios, refined vibration tuning delivers a rich and immersive vibration experience.

If you recall, six years ago Xiaomi introduced the Xiaomi Mi 9 Explorer Edition, and since then, no Explorer Edition device has been launched.

Well, this could change now, as Xiaomi has given a glimpse of a new Xiaomi 18 Pro series variant that appears to feature a transparent design. While the company has not revealed the moniker, it did mention in the Weibo post comment section, ‘Let’s explore together’, hinting at the Xiaomi 18 Pro series Transparent Explorer Edition.

In related news, during the Snapdragon Summit 2026, Xiaomi has confirmed that the Xiaomi 18 Pro series will be launching in the global markets this year.
