Vivo X Fold 5 revealed to provide normal power supply in an extremely cold environment of -30 degree celsius

The smartphone brand Vivo is expected to soon unveil its latest foldable smartphone- Vivo X Fold 5 in its home country China. Vivo’s Product Manager- Han Boxiao has been sharing the updates related to this upcoming device for the past few days. Today he has shared that Vivo X Fold 5 will provide a normal power supply in an extremely cold environment.

In his latest Weibo post, Han Boxiao revealed that last year, Vivo X Fold 3 became the first folding screen that could operate normally in an extremely cold environment of -20 degrees Celsius and now similar tests were conducted on X Fold 5.

The test revealed that even if Vivo X Fold 5 is placed in an environment of -20 degrees Celsius for a long time, it can ensure that all functions operate normally. It is mentioned that the second-generation semi-solid battery technology of X Fold 5 provides a normal power supply in an extremely cold environment of -30 degrees Celsius.
Previous reports revealed that the Vivo X Fold 5 will arrive in a green color option. This device is also claimed to arrive as the very first big-screen phone to support triple-proof protection against dust and water. It has an IP5X dustproof level, along with IPX8/IPX9/IPX9+ waterproof protection. Additionally, the device can be folded and opened 1,000 times under 1 meter of water, and it is said to be the world’s first foldable to achieve this capability. It is 8.7mm thick when folded and weighs 209g.
A few of its other expected/revealed specs are the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto lens, 6000 mAh battery, 90W wired fast charging feature, wireless charging capability, and 5G/WiFi/Bluetooth/NFC connectivity support. Vivo X Fold 5 has also received certifications from the SIRIM, IMDA and 3C authorities, confirming the launch in Malaysia, Singapore, and China. This year in 2025, the device is also tipped to hit the Indian market as well.
