Vivo X Fold 5 First Teaser Shared, Revealing its Thin and Light-Weight Design; Processor and Other Key Details Also Tipped

Vivo X Fold 5 – Launching This Month as the Thinnest and Lightest Book-Like Foldable?
Vivo officially debuted its X Fold 3 smartphone last year in the month of March 2025 and this device is still claimed to be the lightest weighing book-like foldable in the market (however do note that Huawei’s Pura X with a somewhat similar form factor design is 193.7 ~ 195.9 gm). As per the shared teaser video, the upcoming Vivo X Fold 5 will be even lighter and it is reported to be only 209 gm. Based on reports, it has also been revealed that the launch of Vivo’s X Fold 5 smartphone is believed to take place later this month – in June 2025 and when it happens, the latest device will be taking the place as the lightest and thinnest big foldable in market.
Speaking more, Qualcomm’s October 2023-released Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip is said to be used in the Vivo X Fold 5 flagship (unlike OPPO’s Find N5 that debuted with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chip), and as a result of which, a lower and competitive pricing can be expected for the device too.
In related news, the Vivo X Fold 5 was spotted on the SIRIM and IMDA certification platforms recently, and it reportedly was also spotted on the 3C certification database too. The global launch in Malaysia and Singapore, as well as 5G/WiFi/Bluetooth/NFC connectivity and a possible 90W wired fast charging support, were confirmed via these certification listings. To add, Vivo’s X Fold 5 is also tipped to hit the Indian market too this year in 2025. A few of its other expected specs include the 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto lens, 6000 mAh battery, and the wireless charging capability.
